Ftp not working

Postby carddp » Sat Feb 03, 2007 12:31 pm

I've just recently updated my Internet to IE 7 and used my ftp once succesfully, but now it says:

HTTP 500 Internal Server Error

The website cannot display the page:

Most likely causes:
The website is under maintenance.
The website has a programming error.

What you can try:
Refresh the page.

Go back to the previous page.

More information

This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.

For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

Do I have to configure my Internet or what?

This comes up when I turn off IE7's "friendly error responses":

Server Error
The following error occurred:
[code=SERVER_RESP_ERROR] The server response could not be recognized or accepted. Contact your system administrator.

Okay, sorry for the slow response, I've been very busy.
If anyone has change from Internet Explorer 6 to 7, when opening your ftp site you should get

Something similar to this.

The website cannot display the page HTTP 500
Most likely causes:
The website is under maintenance.
The website has a programming error.

What you can try:
Refresh the page.

Go back to the previous page.

I'm not quite sure if this step is necessary, but add ftp://ftp.(whateveryoursiteis).com to your "trusted sites" by going TOOLS - Internet Options - Security then add it to the green checkmark, trusted sites.
Now the same error will come up when you click on your ftp site, but go PAGE - Open FTP site in Windows Explorer.
This only shows when you are in a FTP site.

*THIS IS ONLY FOR IE 7, IE 6 IS FINE*

How do I tranfer files between 2 computers on my local network with FTP? I'm using FileZilla now, but I can install something else that you recommend. And I don't know a lot about networking so make it easy to understand.
